More than one in two Germans (55 percent) dream of owning a vacation home, and around 40 percent have already actively considered buying one. These are the findings of a study conducted by the market research institute Ipsos on behalf of VillaCircle. Almost half of Germans would like to fulfill their dream of owning a vacation home in Germany or another European country.<\/p>\n
The approximately 40 percent of respondents who have already considered purchasing a property can be broken down into the following categories: 8 percent already own a vacation home, 17 percent are looking for one and 16 percent have already rejected the idea of owning a vacation home. The 17 percent of Germans who are looking have not yet found a suitable vacation property for various reasons: They do not have sufficient equity, the region was not yet a good fit or the legal and tax rules are too complex.<\/p>\n
