How can a site like the one on the banks of the River Main in Heidingsfeld in W\u00fcrzburg be upgraded? Students on the Geovisualization course at the W\u00fcrzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences tackled this question. Under the motto \"Living by the water\", they had to develop designs that combine the areas of living, working and leisure.<\/p>\n
The challenge here was the size of the area: According to lecturer Stefan Sauer, it is an area 530 meters long and 42,000 square meters in size. The students also had to incorporate the results of the integrated district development concept and a public survey into their plans and present their designs to the lecturer, Peter Wiegand and Uwe K\u00f6mpel from the City of W\u00fcrzburg's planning department and the architect Matthias Braun.<\/p>\n
The students made various suggestions: From a swimming pool integrated into the river to a tiny house settlement with colorful shipping containers to a site for the street art scene - the 14 students present creative ideas.
