With the interdisciplinary project \"MEnergie - Meine Energiewende\", the Cologne University of Applied Sciences (TH K\u00f6ln) is working with cooperation partners from the education, energy and technology sectors to create greater acceptance for the energy transition in society. Social media as well as virtual and augmented reality will be used for this purpose.<\/p>\n
\"Thanks to their immersive character, AR and VR technologies enable an active experience of the complex interrelationships of the energy transition,\" says Dr. Valerie Varney from the Institute for Product Development and Design Technology. For example, it is possible to show what a wind turbine behind your own house looks like.<\/p>\n
A particular focus of the project is to be placed on the target group of 42 to 10-year-olds, as according to TH K\u00f6ln, these are the current and future decision-makers in relation to real estate, vehicles and consumer goods. The project is being funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection until November 2024 with around 955,000 euros.<\/p>\n
