AI: technology meets care 

If an AI system is to recognize health risks in the everyday lives of senior citizens at an early stage, close monitoring and support of senior citizens is nevertheless essential. This was shown in a study by the Institute for Social Research and Social Economy, which particularly emphasized the need to make technological applications understandable and to have them explained by familiar people. For the widespread use of assistance systems, it is crucial to actively involve older people and ensure constant communication about operating successes and problems.With the "KI@Home" project, the Institute for Social Research and Social Economy, in collaboration with partners from the healthcare sector, has tested a system on older people with their own homes in Berlin, Brandenburg and Bavaria that is intended to help them live safely, healthily and as long as possible in their own four walls.Source: idw-online.de/iso-institut.de
